Carol A. Beebe

Posted

Carol Ann Beebe was born May 13, 1955, in Council Bluffs, to Bob and Sheen Hoff. She grew up in Mondamin, where she also raised her four boys along with countless stray pets. Her family expanded to include the Reeves and Beebe clans, but there was always room at her table for more. Though she’d been many places, her home was always the Hoff family farm.

To her sons, she was both Mom and Dad but was always known as a second Mom to anyone who needed one. Not being one to miss out on any fun, Carol enjoyed coaching her boys in little league baseball and basketball and always found a way to make it to the school games, plays and programs her kids and grandkids were in.

Her generosity and willingness to help others knew no bounds; spending years volunteering as an EMT and firefighter, finding a way to help someone else, even if that meant she would go without.  No matter what, she was always willing to lend a hand, do the hard work, be a shoulder to cry on, chip in wherever she could – especially if it meant cooking something up on the stove.

She found adventure and humor in every aspect of life, chatting with friends and family under the binzebo, watching an old movie or riding a roller coaster in Disney World. She enjoyed giving her grandchildren, Hayden, Ella and Norah too much candy (she’d say there’s no such thing) and spending summer days on the mower or on a spontaneous countryside road trip. Her mischievous smile and infectious laugh will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Sheen; and sister, Barb.  Survived by Lance and Medea of Modale, Aaron and Sarah Reeves of Bennington, Neb., Ethan Reeves of Seattle, Wash., and Matt Reeves of Omaha, Neb.

A celebration of life service was held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley.
