City of Modale City Council Meeting Minutes December 14, 2020 The regular meeting of the Modale City Council was held on December 14, 2020. Mayor Pro Tem James Cox called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmembers Sal Vittitoe, Terigene Tiffey, and Katie Offenbacker were present. Visitors present were Amber Larsen, Joe Rueschenberg, Kent Beebe, and Kathy Dugdale. Staff present was Linda Windschitl. Tiffey made a motion to approve the consent agenda. Ganzhorn seconded the motion; motion carried with a 4-0 vote. Tammy was unable to report for the Library. Vittitoe made a motion to approve giving the $100.00 for the Santa at the Legion to the Library since the Legion decided not to have Santa this year out of an abundance of caution. The Library will provide some goodies for Christmas this year. No one reported for the Fire Department. The Council discussed moving forward with adding new members to the department. Due to other commitments Chief Pavlik will step down as Chief. The council discussed dirt for the sewer lagoon project. They will move forward with the boring samples to make sure the soil will work for the project. The insurance stated there would be a nominal charge to insure the area after the hole is dug. Windschitl announced that the City received $48,900.00 from The Jimmy King Foundation for the City Park. The City plans to add a new play structure with slides, a few more benches and a walking path. Offenbacker made a motion to approve the purchase of the new playground equipment. Vittitoe seconded the motion; motion carried with a 4-0 vote. Ganzhorn made a motion by resolution 2020-15 to approve the AFR. Tiffey seconded the motion; motion carried with 4-0 vote. Vittitoe made a motion to adjourn. Offenbacker seconded the motion; motion carried with a 4-0 vote.
