Delores I. (Hammer) Roden, 85, of Little Sioux, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs.

A graveside service was held Friday, June 10, 2022, at the Little Sioux Cemetery in Little Sioux with Elder Donnie Bothwell, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Delores’ obituary.  Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments in Onawa.

Delores Ilene was born Aug. 2, 1936, in Mondamin, the daughter of Roy Elmer and Helen Dorothy (Fowler) Hammer. She graduated from Mondamin High School in 1955. Delores worked at Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, Neb. until she married the love of her life.

Delores and Daniel Eugene Roden were united into marriage June 7, 1958, at Little Sioux Church of Christ. She was a house wife and mother to her family.

Delores loved to read, bake, do Sudoku puzzles, watch anything with John Wayne in it, and watch the birds and squirrels outside the window. Most of all, she loved being with all of her family.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Daniel Roden of Little Sioux; children, Diana Eggerss, Donna (Tony) Fontes, Debra (Duane) Larison, Daniel (Lisa) Roden, Jr., Denise Cape, Duane Roden, and Dean Roden; twenty-one grandchildren, Aaron Eggerss, Ryan (Mandy Chadwick) Eggerss, Rachel (Daniel Clark) Eggerss, Caitlyn Fontes, Taylor (Thomas) Fontes Suhr, Aimee Illig, Melissa (David) Van Berkum, Devin (Nick) Jensen, Jessy (Stefan Shoberg) Roden, Austin Roden, Lucas Roden, Nathan Roden, Timathy Roden, James Roden, Jared (Andrea) Cape, Cody Cape, Grace Cape, Karley Cape, Staff Sergeant Austin Roden, Jena (Coddie Neerings) Roden, and Dallas Roden; fifteen great-grandchildren and two on the way, Hunter Eggerss, Lilian Castonguay, Ava Lynne Eggerss, Brehden Eggerss, Dilynn Eggerss, baby Eggerss, Tristen Eggerss, Emery Clark, Brayden Clark, Holden Illig, Emerson Illig, Alivia Johnston, Harper Cape, Camila Roden, Perseus Neerings, baby Neerings, and Nevaeh Ritter; and many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Hammer; mother, Helen (Fowler) Hammer Larison; step-father, Ben Larison; son, Douglas Eric Roden; brother, Larry Lee Hammer; and sons-in-law, Timothy Wallis and Delbert Eggerss, Jr.
