Jack Levert Peterson, age 76 of Missouri Valley, passed away on Jan. 4, 2024. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024, at the Church of Christ in Mondamin, at 2 pm.
Jack was born May 16, 1947, in Council Bluffs. The son of Lester and Fleta (Layton)Peterson of Mondamin.
Jack was married to Janice (Carrier) Peterson for 58 years. They met in high school and married soon after. They have one daughter, one son, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Jack worked as a barber for 50 years. He also became a realtor and invested in rental properties. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, snow skiing, ice skating, gardening, and especially golf. He had won the men’s golf club championship one year. He played the guitar and harmonica. Is a member of the Church of Christ and participated as a deacon in the past. Jack was a family centered man. He was eager to learn and became good at plumbing, electrical, construction, and mechanical work when needed. Never afraid to tackle a big project or lend a helping hand to others. His personality was charismatic. He enjoyed people and family/friends' gatherings.
Remaining to cherish Jack Levert Peterson are his wife, Janice; daughter, Patty (Troy) Hildreth; son, Stewart Peterson; grandchildren; Jade Gross, Elaine (Levi) Preston, Dylan Gross, Perry Gross, Haley Hildreth, Gage Hildreth, Alyana Peterson, and Aaron Peterson; great-grandchildren; Huxley Gross, Emmalyn Gross and Iyla Gross.
Preceding Jack Levert Peterson in death are parents, Lester and Fleta Peterson; sister, Ylonda Morrison; brothers; Ralph Hussing and Jerry Hussing.
Pastor Wayne Bahr officiated. The organist was Sharon Shelton. Aaron Peterson was the guitarist and vocalist. The honorary bearers were Chris Hussing, Ralph Hussing, Sheryl Wendt and Rick Shearer.
