Jacquelyn Jean Wall age 91, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley. Jackie was born March 27, 1930, in Missouri Valley to Fred and Eva (Smith) Wall. Jackie was born at home in Willow Park and had a rocky start to life as her mother was quite ill with pneumonia at the time of her birth. Both Jackie and her mom survived thanks to the care of her Aunt Grace Marshall. She lived her entire life in Missouri Valley. The family lived on a small farm in what was referred to as “Old Town” where she attended “country school”. When Jackie entered high school, the family moved to town. Jackie graduated from Missouri Valley High School class of 1948. Throughout her life Jackie found much joy in caring for others. She worked as a “mother’s helper” to several families in Missouri Valley. Her last babies she lovingly cared for were Harry and Debbie Cohen’s boys, Caleb and Benjamin, her great-nephews. Jackie was employed at Brandies Department Store in Omaha and Fred’s Jewelry in downtown Missouri Valley for many years. Later, Jackie worked as a “lunch lady” for the Missouri Valley School District retiring in the late 1980’s. Jackie cared for her mother Eva at home until her death in 1994. She moved to Culavin Heights in 1995 where she lived until 2019.  Jackie made many dear friends throughout the years there. She was grateful to be able to live independently with the assistance of her wonderful caregivers from Harrison County Homemaker Agency.

Jackie was baptized a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and at the time of her death a member of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was ever faithful and read the bible daily. She taught Bible lessons to her niece and nephews every Sunday for many years. She loved nature, enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She was an avid animal lover; especially her many beloved cats she owned throughout her life. She was a gifted artist, she enjoyed drawing, painting, and ceramics. Jackie also enjoyed sewing and embroidery.

Jackie is survived by her nephews, Richard (Myrna) and William Dozier, Michael (Terri), Roger (Margaret), Jon (Michelle) Pitt, and niece Debra (Harry) Cohen; many great nieces; nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews along with her many dear friends at Culavin Heights.
