Janice Ann (Johnson) Mann, 76, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at her home in Woodbine.
Janice was born on Apr. 25, 1944, in Sioux City, the daughter of Arthur and Lillie (Anderson) Johnson. She was raised in Turin, where she enjoyed riding her horse, Pal, with her friends. She graduated from the Onawa High School in 1962. After high school, she attended Commercial Extension in Omaha, Neb. and studied bookkeeping. On Mar. 3, 1973, Janice was united in marriage to Duane E. Mann at RLDS Church in Mondamin. The couple moved to Woodbine in 1975 raised their family and started several small businesses until their retirement in 2008.

Janice worked as the bookkeeper for all of the businesses that she and Duane started including: Mann Chemical and Orchard Supply, Mann’s Fruit Farm and Mann Lawn Service. She also truly enjoyed raising fruits and vegetables and was considered by many to be an expert green thumb. She enjoyed chatting with everyone she met in all of her business endeavors and always showed genuine interest in everyone she met.

Janice's greatest love in life was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and caring for her numerous horses. Her generous heart was shown to all that she knew. She always enjoyed hosting people for the holidays and making her famous Swedish pancakes for her grandchildren.
Janice's memory is honored by: husband, Duane E. Mann, of Woodbine; two children, Aaron & Kristi Mann, of Nevada, Janel & Robert Cogdill, of Woodbine, and four step-children Lori & Ricky Hingtgen, of Rincon, Ga., Brian & Laura Mann of Bellevue, Neb., Jon & Susan Mann of Omaha, Neb. and

Julie & Rich Calvert of Tripoli; and eighteen grandchildren, Andrea, Bob, Kurt, Nicole, Stephanie, Rhianna, Leilani, Alaina, Thomas, Jessica, Shannon, Anna, Joseph, Joshua, Natalie, Reagan, Jacob and Paige; and four great-grandchildren, Max, Amelia, William and Charles; and a sister Judith & Ron Cooper of Centennial, Colo. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Janet Maldonado and a brother, Jon Johnson.

A celebration of life will be held in April.  Details will be provided prior to the event.
