Janice Jean Griffith, age 83, of Logan, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at Jennie Edmondson Hospital in Council Bluffs, surrounded by her children. She was born Jan. 24, 1938, to Nels and Irene (Holton) Jacobsen in Magnolia. She attended school in Magnolia and graduated in 1956. Janice went on to marry Clifford Williams of Logan on Aug. 22, 1958. The couple had five children together: Larry, Lori, Michael, Timothy and Steven. Janice worked for Mutual of Omaha for a few years before she took a job with Perfection Learning in Logan, where she worked for thirty years before retiring. Her husband Clifford passed away on Sept. 20, 1987. Janice later met Murril Griffith of Missouri Valley, and was married Nov. 11, 1997. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, baking, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and above all, spending quality time with her family.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clifford; her second husband, Murril; son, Larry; sister, Cecile Hiller; and brother-in-law, Harold Hiller.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori Nuzum of Woodbine; three sons, Mike Williams and wife Linda of Great Falls, Mont., Tim Williams of Logan, Steve Williams of Missouri Valley; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bev Jorgensen and husband Steve of Atlantic and Virgene Ohl and husband Rick of Logan; brother, Eugene Jacobsen and wife Karen of Logan; many other relatives and a host of friends.

A graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, for Immediate Family at Rose Hill Cemetery in Missouri Valley with Pastor Jason Gutzmer officiating. The music selections were “How Great Thou Art”, “Footsteps” and “Amazing Grace”.
