Janice M. Stueve age 74, of Modale, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at CHI Health Missouri Valley. Janice was born Sept. 8, 1948, in Logan, to Ted and Bernadine Straight. She attended a country school at the end of her driveway, and then attended school in Magnolia. She started high school in Logan. This is where she met her high school sweetheart, Denis Stueve. They were united in marriage Oct. 5, 1963, at the Lutheran Church in Logan. To this union there were four children: Annette, Lonnie, Tony and Brian.
Janice was a CNA for over forty years. She was still employed with CHI Health Missouri Valley at the time of her passing. She loved taking care of people. She used to love riding horses, camping and fishing, back in her younger years.
Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Denis; daughter, Annette; son, Lonnie; parents, Ted and Bernadine Straight; brothers, Jim and Jack and sister, Jean.
Survivors include her sons, Tony and wife Kerry of Missouri Valley, Brian of Modale, sister, JoAnn Myers of Logan; brothers, John and wife Debbie Straight of Logan, Jerry and wife Sandra Straight of Logan; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren which to all she was known as “granny”; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. The funeral service was Friday, Feb. 24, 2023 at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Pastor Connie McWilliams officiated. The music selections were “Angels Among Us” and “I.O.U.”. The honorary casket bearers were the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The casket bearers were Cody Stueve, Preston Stueve, Alex Stueve, Colton Beebe, Travis Phillips and Dan Brown. The final resting place is Magnolia Cemetery in Magnolia.
