Jona Darlene Lamberson, 58, died on April 7, 2022, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. She was born on April 18, 1963, in Onawa, to Charles and Darlene (Bedsaul) Lamberson. She was the third of four Lamberson children. In April of 1970, she became a resident of the Glenwood Resource Center, a place that she called home for 52 years.

Jona loved to socialize. She always wanted to know what was going on and she was even the guard at the door of her house, making sure to be a protector to her friends. She loved to laugh and always had a smile on her face. She loved to be teased and to play silly games. Jona was loved by many people.

Jona was preceded in death by her father, Charles Lamberson; grandparents, Charles and Dorothy Lamberson and Harry and Erma Bedsaul; and great-nephew, Cole Clark. She is survived by her mother, Darlene Lamberson of Logan; siblings, Beckie and her husband Mark West of Scottsdale, Ariz., Gail Lamberson and his wife Kristina of Logan, and Jean Lamberson and her fiancé Mike West of Livermore, Calif.; nieces and nephews, Ryan West and his wife Aspen, Lacey and her husband Clint Tallmadge, Shawna and her husband Eric Clark, and Cody Lamberson and his wife Jonna; great-nieces and nephews, Braxton, Jameson, Jaxson, Korbin, Hailee, Henry and Charlee; her family at the Glenwood Resource Center; and many other friends and relatives.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Glenwood Resource Chapel in Glenwood. Pastor Nikki Ahart presided over the service. The recorded musical selection was “How Great Thou Art”. Jona’s final resting place will be at the Magnolia Iowa Cemetery.
