Loucetta D. Seyler, 80

Loucetta Darlene Seyler, 80, of Missouri Valley, passed away at home on April 9, 2022. 

Loucetta was born June 7, 1941 in Onawa, to Laverne and Darlene Kuhlmann.  She grew up in the Onawa/Castana area before she married her husband William (Bill) J Seyler of Missouri Valley.  They were married in 1963, and lived in Missouri Valley where they raised their five children.  Bill passed on January 14, 2008. 

She held many positions in the care industry, from working in a nursing home to being a daycare provider.  She truly enjoyed caring for others.  Her family was her treasure, she always went out of her way to make sure everyone was taken care, from her children all the way down to her great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and early morning coffee dates with her friends.    

Survivors include her three daughters, Kris Baxter of Missouri Valley, Kim McNeely and her husband Donnie McNeely of Missouri Valley, Stacy Seyler of Missouri Valley; daughter-in-law, Traci Seyler of Evansville, Ind.;  brother, Randel and Noreen Kuhlmann of Mapleton; Richard and Leigh Kuhlmann of Oklahoma City, Okla., Roger and Deb Kuhlmann of Missouri Valley; Linda Kuhlmann Smith and Reagan of Alcester, S.D., Don and Laura Kuhlmann of Onawa; sister-in-law, Brenda Kuhlmann of Mapleton; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Ronald Kuhlmann; daughter, Karla Seyler; son, Jeff Seyler; and granddaughter, Katlyn Papstein.

Visitation and celebration of life service were held Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Pastor Brad Westercamp officiated. Music Selections were “I’ll Fly Away”, “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Dancing in the Sky”. The honorary bearers were the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The final resting place is at Frazier Cemetery in Missouri Valley.
