NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED VACATION AND CONVEYANCE OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY In accordance with Section 364.7 Iowa Code (2023), notice is hereby given that the City Council of Magnolia, Iowa, will conduct a public hearing on October 2, 2024 at 6:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber at the Magnolia City Hall at 380 Magnolia St, Magnolia, Iowa, concerning the vacation of the following parcels of City Owned real property: * The alley running North to South and contained within Block 19 Town of Magnolia, Iowa, with its proposed conveyance to Jane F. Michael, Daniel R. McGrew and Colton Anderson and Staci M. Anderson subject to conditions by the City; and * That portion of Second Street, Town of Magnolia, Iowa, described as beginning at a point 50 feet West of the Northwest Corner of Lot 3, Block 11, Town of Magnolia, Iowa; running thence North 20 feet, thence East 186 feet, thence South 20 feet, thence West 186 feet to the point of beginning, with its proposed conveyance to Ted Michael subject to conditions by the City; and * The alley contained within Block 19, Town of Magnolia, Iowa, described as beginning at the Southwest Corner of Lot 4, Block 19, Town of Magnolia, Iowa, thence East 120 feet, thence South 16 feet, thence West 120 feet, thence North 16 feet to the place of beginning, with its proposed conveyance to Colton Anderson and Staci M. Anderson subject to conditions by the City; and * That portion of Evergreen Street described as: Beginning 30 feet West of the Northwest Corner of Lot 3, Block 11, original Town of Magnolia, thence South 256 feet, thence West 20 feet, thence North 256 feet, thence East 20 feet to the place of beginning, with its proposed conveyance to Ted Michael and Cynthia A. Wallis subject to conditions by the City; and * The alley contained within Block 7 in Magnolia City Addition to the Town of Magnolia, Iowa, with its proposed conveyance to Paul J. Rhoten and Michell L. Rhoten and Colton Anderson and Staci M. Anderson subject to conditions by the City; and * That part of Hickory Street located between Third Steet and Main Street in the Town of Magnolia, Iowa, with its proposed conveyance to Paul J. Rhoten and Mitchell L. Rhoten and Colton Andersen and Staci M. Andersen subject to conditions by the City. The City Council will determine if the disposal of the above-stated real estate is in the best interest of the City of Magnolia, Iowa. At said time and place a public hearing will be conducted on the proposed vacation and conveyance, and at such hearing any person interested may appear and file objections thereto. The City Council shall hear the objections and any evidence for or against the proposal, and forthwith enter decision concerning vacation and conveyance of the real property at issue.
