Randie T. Hawkins, 65

Randie Terry Hawkins, 65, died on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Neb. He was born on July 30, 1957. He was adopted as an infant by Elwin “Hawkie” and Lois (Probasco) Hawkins. Randie grew up in the Missouri Valley area and graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1975. He then attended Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids for two years getting a degree in Horse Husbandry. Randie then worked for various horse farms in Nashua, Des Moines, Kansas City, Mo., Oklahoma City, Okla. and Cedar Rapids.  In the early 1990’s, Randie moved back to Missouri Valley and worked for Tim O’Neill Chevrolet, Edwards Auto Group and Woodhouse Ford. He had most recently been employed by O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.

Randie enjoyed working with his horses and following high school sports. He had been the statistician at the Missouri Valley high school for football and basketball for many years. He also worked with the Easterseals/Pony Express.

Randie was preceded by his parents Elwin “Hawkie” and Lois Hawkins. He is survived by his sister, Lowin Hawkins (Keith Jipp) of Logan; nephew, Tylor Wallis of Missouri Valley; “special daughter”, Racquel (Scott) Pfeiler; “special son”, Riley Smith; and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine. Pastor Connie McWilliams presided over the service. The vocalist was Rick Powell with musical selections of “The Dance”, “Much Too Young” and “Go Rest High on That Mountain”. The honorary pallbearers were Tylor Wallis, Racquel Pfeiler, Riley Smith, Becky Daleske, Keith Jipp and Bill Cunard. The pallbearers were Casey Estling, Rick Harper, Vernon Jahn, Damon Marcum, Fred McBath and Korey Preston. Randie’s final resting place is at the Woodbine Cemetery.
