Rolland Eugene Jacobsen, 85, passed away peacefully on Feb. 16, 2021, in Meza, Arizona.

Rolland was born Jan. 3, 1936, to Ellis and Thelma Jacobsen of Missouri Valley. He grew up on the family farm in rural Missouri Valley. On Mar. 18, 1960, Rolland was married to Karen Baxter of Little Sioux.

Rolland was a Charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3876, serving as Worthy President in 1980-81 and as State Worthy President in 1990-91. Rolland loved riding his motorcycle in his younger years. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything, from toys to trains. Upon retiring from Union Pacific Railroad, Rolland enjoyed traveling south in their RV for the winter with his wife Karen, before settling in Mesa, in 1997. Rolland loved to spend time with his family and friends, and especially playing tricks on his grandchildren when they were younger.

Rolland is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Thelma Jacobsen, Father and Mother-in-law Harvey and Lavonne Baxter, infant daughter, sister and brother-in-law Lavonne and Francis Hainline, brother-in-law Dave Best and brother-in-law Jim Brigham.

Rolland is survived by his wife of 60 years Karen Jacobsen, children Terry (Corinne) Jacobsen of DeSoto, Mo., Kathy (Bruce) Thomas and Vern Jacobsen all of Missouri Valley. Grandchildren Tracy (Chad) Lustgraaf, Shair (Thayne) Bowman, Tanya (Scott) Studer, Carrie (Chad) Parkinson, Rolland Jacobsen, Jeremy (Tanyka) Jacobsen, Karan Thomas, Cheryl (Jay) Wheeldon and Tate Jacobsen. 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one more due to be born later this year. Siblings and siblings-in-law Maryln (Robert) Jordan, Shirley (Keith) Cunard, Jeanette Best and Truman (Charlene) Jacobsen, Reta (Rich) McCormick and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.
