Ronald L. Coberly, 80

Ronald Leroy Coberly age 80, of Missouri Valley, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Neb. He was born Nov. 28, 1941, in Missouri Valley, to Clyde and Delores (Gatrost) Coberly. Ronald attended school in Mondamin. He helped his dad on the farm. He then enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. When he came home from the service, he went to work for Vickers in Omaha, Neb. He also worked at Sutherland Lumber. Ronald later drove a semi for many years until he retired. He married Cheryl Carrier in 1964, to which five children were born, Tina Kay, Randy, Marty, Teddy and Tammy.

Ronald is preceded in death by his daughter Tina Kay; parents, Clyde and Delores Coberly; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Jerry Elliff.

Survivors include his sister, Lois Nichols and husband Dave of Texas; brother, Kenneth Coberly and wife Barb of Missouri Valley; children, Randy Coberly and Shauna of Council Bluffs, Marty Coberly and Lanaya of Missouri Valley, Teddy Coberly and wife Roselyne of Logansport, Ind., Tammy Coberly of Missouri Valley; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. The Funeral Service was Friday, March 11, 2022, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Pastor Connie McWilliams officiated. The Music Selections were “Ramblin Fever”, “Grandpa”, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died”, and “Ramblin Man”. The honorary bearers were Marty Coberly and the grandchildren. The casket bearers were Ted Coberly, Randy Coberly, Gary Elliff, Richard Coberly, Jacob Roach and Mike Hines. The final resting place is at Rose Hill Cemetery in Missouri Valley.

Military Honors will be conducted by Julius F. Muller American Legion Post 337 of Missouri Valley and VFW Post 6256 and O’Hara Seeley Post of Logan.
