Woodbine’s Kelley, Bendgen plate IHSBCA Academic All-State honors
The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Academic All-State Team was released this past weekend.
Woodbine’s duo of Gavin Kelley (sr., first team) and Landon Bendgen (sr., second team) both earned IHSBCA Academic All-State Honors. To qualify, the athlete has to demonstrate outstanding academic, moral and athletic characteristics.
Six other players from the southwest Iowa received this honor, including Tri-Center’s Isaac Wohlhunter (first team), Underwood’s Jack Van Fossen (first team), Coon Rapids-Bayard’s Kolby Culbertson (second team), and Treynor’s Loeck Helvie (second team), Holden Minahan (second team) and Charlie Schrage (second team).
