Virginia D. Morrow, 101

Virginia Delphine Morrow, 101 years, 9 months and 18 days, passed away peacefully in her Sparta home April 15, 2023.  She was born June 27, 1921, in Modale, the daughter of Delbert and Margaret Hammer.  On Sept. 21, 1940, she married the love of her life, Glen Morrow also of Modale.  They farmed for many years.  She was manager of the audit and advertising department D.L. Blair Corporation Blair, Neb., where she retired. After retirement, she and Glen enjoyed many happy years of traveling together throughout the U.S.

Virginia was a charter member plus past president of the Modale Legion Auxiliary; a longtime member of Missouri Valley Christian Church, and most recently the First Baptist Church of Ozark, Mo.  Virginia loved her Lord and Savior. She was an accomplished artist, giving most paintings away as gifts to her family, whom she loved dearly. She was a devoted wife of 68 years and beloved mother of three.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen Morrow; sister, Glendora (Otto) Sahn; brother, Harold (Helen) Hammer; brother, Jerry (Shirley) Hammer; a daughter, Linda Watkins; and a son, Wayne Morrow.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Carole Bond of Sparta, Mo.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other family members and caring friends. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her. She will be missed dearly.

A  visitation and memorial service was held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Ozark, MO., under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Dr. Phillip Burden officiating.

Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory, Ozark. A graveside service will be held in Iowa at a later date.
