William Charles Christoffersen, age 90, of Missouri Valley, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Azera Care in Missouri Valley. Bill was born Dec. 5, 1931, in Omaha, Neb., to Florence and George Christoffersen. Bill graduated from Benson High School. He married Mary Jane Barnes in 1955, in Omaha. He served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He was employed with Northwestern Bell/AT & T until his retirement. He enjoyed many activities, family, wood working, gardening, music, a Nebraska Fan and had a love for cars, especially convertibles.
Survived by his son, William Christoffersen Jr. and wife Theresa of Omaha; daughters, Maureen Hamm of Plainview, Neb. and Tera Rand and husband Jim of Blair, Neb.; sister, Kathleen Main of Arizona; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and Norma Kross of Missouri Valley.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane; parents, Florence and George Christoffersen; brothers, George Christoffersen and Robert Christoffersen; sisters, Ruth Jennings and Margaret McDermott; and granddaughter, Telia Heller.
Visitation was Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. A celebration of life service was held Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley with Pastor Connie McWilliams officiating. The music selections were “On Eagles Wings” and “Sing to the Mountains”. The final resting place is Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha. Military Honors were conducted by The United States Army and Benson VFW Post 2503.
