Missouri Valley CSD selects Justin Wardyn as New Middle/High School Principal

The Missouri Valley Community School District has officially announced the appointment of Justin Wardyn as the new principal for both the middle school and high school, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.

Wardyn comes to the district with a strong background in secondary administration and classroom education. He most recently served as the 7–12 principal at Guardian Angels Central Catholic in West Point, Nebraska. Prior to his administrative role in West Point, Wardyn spent years in the classroom teaching middle school science in Columbus, Nebraska.

A Wayne State College alum, Wardyn earned his Bachelor of Science in Education before going on to complete a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.

A Leadership Style Built on Connection District leadership noted that Wardyn’s philosophy aligns closely with the community-first identity of Missouri Valley. Speaking on his upcoming role, Wardyn emphasized that his approach to education focuses heavily on collaboration and mutual trust.

"My leadership approach is rooted in supporting teachers and students, working with families, and building on small-town values like trust, relationships, and shared success," Wardyn said. "I look forward to meeting students, staff, and families and working together to continue the great work already underway to support every student’s success."

Joining the Community

The move marks a return to small-town roots for Wardyn, who grew up in rural Nebraska and specifically sought out a district that mirrors those same tight-knit principles.

"Having grown up in a small Nebraska town, I value the strong relationships and sense of belonging that communities like this provide," Wardyn added. "Missouri Valley feels like a place where people genuinely care for one another, and that sense of connection is what drew our family here."

Wardyn will be relocating to the area alongside his wife, Nora, and their four children: Marie, Mildred, Joseph, and Meredith. The district encourages local families, staff, and community members to extend a warm welcome to the Wardyn family as they transition into their new roles this upcoming school year.
