Trevor John Collison, 32, of Little Sioux, is wanted on federal charges that include alleged sexual exploitation and attempted exploitation of minors and alleged possession of child pornography, according to reporting from multiple news outlets.
Collison was last known to be in custody in Indonesia, where authorities were working with U.S. officials to get him to the United States to face these charges.
According to reporting from CNN Indonesia and the Jakarta Post, the Directorate General of Immigration in Indonesia “arrested a United States citizen with the initials TJC who is a fugitive from the U.S. Marshals federal law enforcement agency.”
Further investigation by the Missouri Valley Times-News and Dunlap Reporter confirmed the individual to be Collison.
Filings on Iowa Courts' online record search show that three search warrants for Collison were requested, granted and executed in August of 2024. The first was on Aug. 2 for the search of a white camper. The second and third were both on Aug. 13 and were conducted at 1337 Larpenteur Memorial Road and 95 Mulberry St., both in Little Sioux.
When an inquiry into these search warrants was made by the Times-News and Reporter, it was found that the information they contain is not public.
Collison was arrested in Indonesia on Dec. 30, at the Class I Non-TPI Tangerang Immigration Office. Yuldi Yusman, director of immigration supervision and enforcement in Indonesia, was quoted by CNN Indonesia as saying that Collison was applying for an extension of his visa permit.
Yuldi was also quoted as saying that Collison had entered Indonesian territory on Dec. 4, 2024.
“Two weeks later, the Directorate General of Immigration received information from the United States Embassy that (Collison's) passport had been revoked so that his status was invalid,” CNN Indonesia reported.
According to the Jakarta Post, the newspaper based in Indonesia's capital, this “led to the issuance of a prevention order and the initiation of a preliminary investigation by Immigration before his detention.”
As of Jan. 9, the Directorate General of Immigration was reported as having coordination with the United States Embassy for further legal processes.
In a press conference televised by Astro Awani, a Malaysian news channel, Collison was present. Clothed in an orange jumpsuit with a ski mask over his face and notably absent of any handcuffs, the person facing the sexual exploitation and child pornography charges kept his head down before being led out of the room by Indonesian law enforcement at the completion of the press conference.
When contacted by the Times-News and Reporter on Thursday, Harrison County Attorney Sarah Delanty said her office had no comment at this time.
