CITY OF MISSOURI VALLEY CITY COUNCIL MEETING CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM TUESDAY, JULY 12, 2022 1. Mayor Kelly presided over the meeting and called it to order at 6:30 p.m. Citizens attending included Mary Jo Buckley, Melba Struble, Beth Wohlers and Marilyn Keizer. There were others present that didn’t sign in this evening as well. 2. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3. The following Council members were present: Eric Ford, Sherm Struble , Patty Stueve, Kevin Taylor and Aaron Tuttle. 4. Mayor Kelly asked for a motion to approve tonight’s agenda. Ford brought up a question as to why these items are being brought back up. Mayor Kelly said it was due to recommendations from the City Attorney. There was discussion between Ford and Kelly about whether the raise was denied. Ford felt the attorney wasn’t given all of the facts. Ford really feels that the attorney needs to be here before council continues with this. Mayor Kelly asked again if there was a motion to approve the agenda. Struble commented that we have discussed this twice now. He asked why it was coming up again? There was a lot of exchanges of information pertaining to the attorney being here and the legality of the denial or delay of the raise. It was pretty much a consensus that the attorney should be present. There was further discussion about the raise process and whether or not it should be changed to not be an across-the-board raise, but a performance-based raise. There was no motion. 5. Motion by Struble, seconded by Stueve to adjourn at 6:42 p.m. Motion carried unanimously. Sherm Struble, Mayor Pro Tem Attest: Jeremy Butrick, Clerk/Administrator MVTN 7-20-22
