Members M Holben & S Noah Mayor and/or Commission Reports: Nikki – Parks & Sewer / Streets, Mike – Lights, Ronny – Water & Landfill, Scott – EMA Public In-Put: None Old Business: None New Business: - Budget Hearing: Mayor Woodward opened the Public Hearing at 6:15 p.m. 1st S Baumfalk 2nd N Madsen, Mayor made a roll call vote; Yes 4-0 Budget was passed and hearing closed at 6:25 p.m. - Annual Loan Hearing: Mayor Woodward opened the Public Hearing at 6:25 p.m. 1st L McWilliams 2nd S Baumfalk, Mayor made a roll call vote; Yes 4-0 Resolution #04-2023-1 passed and hearing closed at 6:40 p.m. - Water Rate Study: T Noah – City needs to consider raising water rates per ordinance. - USDA Exploratory Grant: T Noah – USDA approved $22,000 and city will pay $7,500 out of ARP fund. - Resolution for Predevelopment Plan USDA: #04-2023-2 1st S Baumfalk 2nd L McWilliams Yes-4-0 - Snyder & Associates Agreement: City to hire Snyder & Associates for $29,500 1st M Carson 2nd N Madsen Yes – 4-0 - T Noah – Safe working environment: #04-2023-3 City Ordinance must be enforced. 1st S Baumfalk 2nd M Carson Yes – 4-0 Clerk Report: We all need to stay positive, support one another and set good examples. Maintenance, Water and Sewer Report: T Noah – Reported late afternoon on Thursday April 6th the Pisgah water pump station experienced an electrical fire. The Pisgah volunteer fire dept responded and put out the fire but the station was damaged. T Noah immediately contacted the Insurance company, EMA, DNR and the State Fire Marshal’s Office. He then began assessing and diagnosing the damages and worked through the night to make the repairs. Residents were informed to conserve water and the system was restored in less than eighteen hours. The water supply was not contaminated. T Noah – needs to use his vacation time. Fire Department: T Noah – Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday April 22nd 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Other Business – Council Open Discussion: Resident W Bonham was given a temporary container permit early last fall. The container is now on blocks and being used as a shop so a copy of the City Ordinance will need to be sent to him again.
