C.W. “Bill” Lundergard, 65, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, after a very short battle with cancer. He was born on March 14, 1959, in Missouri Valley, to Clifford and Marlene (O’Neill) Lundergard. Bill attended school at the Logan-Magnolia school and graduated in 1977. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church in Logan. Bill loved to golf and from an early age he spent most of his time on the Logan-Missouri Valley Golf Course. Cliff and Marlene would drop the kids off at the course and they would run from hole to hole perfecting their game. Bill loved farming and raising and feeding cattle. On Aug. 21, 1981, he was married to Kathy Jo Maguire at the Logan Christian Church in Logan. They lived on a farm southeast of Logan for the first years of marriage and while there, their son Brian Michael was born. In 1988, Bill and Kathy bought and moved to a farm near Woodbine and while there Brittany Nichole was born.
Bill enjoyed tailgating and attending the home football games at Kansas State. He was a big fan of watching his grandkids playing hockey, basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball and flag football.
Bill was preceded in death by his father; father-in-law, Larry Maguire; brother-in-law, Terry Oloff; and sister-in-law, Diana Maguire. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Jo Lundergard of Woodbine; children, Brian Lundergard and his wife Anna of Council Bluffs and Brittany Lundergard of Woodbine; grandchildren, Dakota Lundergard and Dalton Lundergard; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2024, at Logan Christian Church in Logan. Pastor Kyle Drown presided over the service assisted by Rick Powell. The musical selection was “Go Rest High on That Mountain”. The pallbearers were Brian Lundergard, Brittany Lundergard, Philip Chase, Bryce Maguire, Joe Maguire, Michael Maguire and Clark Mikels. Bill’s final resting place is at the Bethel Cemetery.
