Daniel “Danny” E. Carritt, 44, of Little Sioux, passed away, Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Burgess Health Center, Onawa.
Daniel Earl was born March 25, 1981, in Blair, Neb., the son of Michael and Helen (Morlan) Carritt. Danny attended West Harrison High School and graduated with the class of 1999.
Danny and Jeannie Chlupacek were united in marriage on May 1, 2010, in Woodbine. To this union they had three children: Jonathan, Landon, and Grayson.
He was a heavy machine operator and held a Class A CDL.
Danny enjoyed playing darts, volleyball, hunting, mushroom hunting, fishing, and derby cars. In his younger years, he enjoyed working on cars and putting in stereo/sound systems with all his buddies. Later in life he shared this bond with his sons. Danny coached little league football, wrestling, baseball, and attended many of his children’s sporting events. He loved spending time with all of his family and friends.
He was a member of the Community of Christ Church Mondamin.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Carritt of Little Sioux; children, Jonathan Chlupacek, Landon Carritt, and Grayson Carritt; mother, Helen Carritt of Little Sioux; sisters, Michaela Carritt of Little Sioux, and Abby (Jeremy) Carritt of Little Sioux; brother, Kenny (Brandi) Carritt of Little Sioux; many loved nieces and nephews, Essie, Lillie, Emma, Shaylyn, Elizabeth, Kalli, Chadwick, Zachory, Dominic, Dakota, Kayden, Jacob, Tristan, and Lorenzo; great-nieces and nephews, Amarion, Braylin, Annalise, Xaviar, Kacen, and Nataly; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Carritt; uncles, Marty Carritt and Terry Carritt; and infant niece, Alyssa Jennings.
A funeral service was Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, with his Uncle John Carritt and Aunt Mary Hamer, officiating. A live stream of the service was posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Danny’s obituary. A luncheon followed the service at Nealy Hall, 86 Vine Street, Little Sioux. A private family burial was held at a later date in the Little Sioux Cemetery, Little Sioux. A visitation was Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa. Arrangements were under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa.
