Danny Alvin Johnson was born on Oct. 4, 1958 in Missouri Valley, to Alvin and Pauline Johnson. He grew up in Missouri Valley and excelled in academics and sports. He continued his education at the University of Iowa and received his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing in 1983. His position as a marketing exec in the food industry took him and his family to Sioux Falls, Arkansas City, KS, St. Louis, North Carolina and finally Sacramento. His most recent job was driving for a retirement village, which he enjoyed very much.
Danny married Renee Smith in 1976 in Missouri Valley and to this union were born son, Trevor Daniel, and daughter, Jill Renee.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Alvin in 1984, and his mother Pauline in 2010. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law David Smith in 2009, and his mother-in-law Barbara in 2014. Also, his brother-in-law David Smith and sister-in law Debra Conant.
He is survived by his wife Renee; son Trevor (Amie) and their sons Wyatt, Lars, and Anders all of Ballwin, Mo.; daughter Jill of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; sisters, Shurmaine (Bill) McAlpine and their children Beth and Mark all of Iowa; sister Sandy (Walt) and their children Daniel, Melissa and Jacob; sisters-in-law Sharon Conant (Dave) and Janet Smith and her children Alexis and Julia; late sister-in-law Debbie's children Courtney Hoden, Justin Conant, Jason Conant and Brian Conant; he also leaves behind so many other family and friends.
Dan was a lifelong sports fan and loved his Iowa Hawkeyes. He also loved collecting antiques and anything old and interesting (just like his father Al). He was loved and will be missed by many.
Services will be held at a later date.
