Darlene Mae (Van Pelt) Pitt, age 84, of Logan, IA, passed away on September 4th, 2023.
Darlene was born. November 16, 1938, in Jefferson. The daughter of Harold & Dorothy (Grove) Van Pelt.
Darlene graduated from Ogden High School in 1957.
Darlene married Stanley Harold Pitt on December 5th, 1959. They were introduced to each other by Stan's sister, Dorothy Anderson (Pitt), who worked with Darlene at Mutual of Omaha.
They were happily married for 63 years & raised three children together, daughter, Julie & sons, Micheal & Thomas and were blessed with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The couple enjoyed spending time with their family, gardening, & traveling.
Remaining to cherish Darlene's memory are her husband, Stanley Pitt, children, Julie Holben (Pitt), Michael Pitt, & Thomas Pitt, grandchildren, Natasha Klein, Brooke Holben, Heath Holben, Jacob Pitt, Michael Pitt. Jr, great-grandchildren Riley Turner, Chuck Forbes, Cameron Forbes, Jayda Denniston, Aurora Pitt., brother-in-law Melvin & Alice Pitt, sisters-in-law, Christa Pitt, Ilene Van Pelt, Barb Adams, Betty & Doug Wright, & Margaret Baker, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Dorothy (Grove) Van Pelt, brothers, Everett Van Pelt, Harold Van Pelt, Keith Van Pelt, Kenneth Van Pelt, her granddaughter, Samantha Denniston. Mother and Father-in-law, Harold & Emma Pitt, brothers in law, Ronald Pitt, David Andersen, Wayne Adams, Terry Baker, sisters in law, Florice Pitt, Dorothy (Pitt) Andersen, Pat Van Pelt, Shirley Van Pelt.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 15th, from 5-7 p.m. at the Logan Memorial Chapel. Funeral service 11:00a.m Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Logan Memorial Chapel.
Pastor Patty Ford will be Officiating. Honorary Bearers are Heath Holben, Jacob Pitt, Michael Pitt Jr., Doug Wright Jr., Larry Andersen, Randy Pitt, Bill Adams, Ray Pitt Jr., David Pitt Sr.
Final Resting Place is Valley View Cemetery in Persia.
