Diane Elizabeth Barrineau passed away Oct. 22, 2025, in Omaha, Neb. at the age of 73 years. She was born April 9, 1952, in Logan.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Dorothy (Adams) Broughton; brother Frank Broughton; and many loved ones. She is survived by her children Jessica Barrineau; Gary (Beth) Barrineau; Hannah (Benji) Dison and their father Barry Barrineau; grandchildren Benjamin, George, and Marley Barrineau; Trinity and Trystan Dison; brother Lewis (Elaine) Broughton; nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and extended family.
Diane grew up on a farm near Modale, and graduated from West Harrison High School. She completed business courses in Omaha before getting married and settling at Echo Farm near Mondamin, where she began raising her three children. She later moved into Mondamin as her children finished high school.
She worked at Perfection Learning for over 20 years before becoming a loving care provider for her mother, father, brother, and mother-in-law. When her care was no longer needed for her family members, Diane followed her children to the Omaha area where she continued working as a care provider at First Light Home Care.
Diane will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family. She was a loving daughter, incredible mother, dedicated sister and a natural caregiver, always putting other’s needs in front of her own. She was equally compassionate for animals, and she never met a stray she didn’t try to adopt. She loved traveling and attending her children’s sporting events. More recently, she was a fixture at every event for her grandchildren. She looked forward to any chance to be with her family and didn’t want to miss anything. This included her favorite Sunday pastime, having family over to root for her favorite NFL player and honorary family member, Noah Fant.
Diane spent her life serving and caring for those she loved and those in need. She will be dearly missed, but we know she will continue to watch over us. Throughout all the challenges and hardships she faced, she always maintained her positive spirit and grace. Her loving memory and example will carry on through her family and friends.
