Eagles Nest Observation at DeSoto Bend, March 14
Join a refuge ranger to observe the nesting pairs of bald eagles on the refuge. During the program participants will learn about bald eagles' life history and their nesting habits along with the eagles nesting history on DeSoto. Following an introductory program, participants will head out on the refuge to observe the eagle nests and to help determine which ones are active with nesting pairs. Binoculars and spotting scopes will be available for use during the program. Due to limited capacity of refuge vehicles, participants may need to caravan in personal vehicles out to nest locations.
The program will start at the DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center on Saturday, March 14th at 10 am and will conclude around noon. To learn more, contact Park Ranger Peter Rea at 712-388-4803 or peter_rea@fws.gov.
