When you don’t know what’s in the mix, coaches fall back on what they know until they get the right line-up set. Boyer Valley opened up the 2025 gridiron campaign with a convincing 53-28 win over Newell-Fonda in Week 0 action on Aug. 22 at McAllister Field in Dunlap.
“It was a great win, and I’m happy for all the athletes and coaches,” stated Bulldogs Coach Jeremy Christiansen. “They put in a lot of work during the off-season, and the last couple of weeks. Its’ great to get that season opening win.”
Boyer Valley bullied their way for 410 yards, including 339 rushing (225 yard in the first half), to control the game from the start. Brody Koski led with 182 yards rushing (4 TDs), with Levi Reineke adding 121 yards rushing (2 TDs).
“The two swing plays of the game was our final score right before halftime,” Christiansen added, “Then, we opened up the second half with a kickoff return for a score. Our defense was solid the entire night, but we have some work to do if we want to be ready for this week. Great way to start if off.”
Up Next (Aug. 29): Boyer Valley (1-0) heads into their second week of the season at Ar-We-Va (Westside) this week.
