Cardinals blank Big Reds in finale
Missouri Valley finished off the regular season with a 48-0 loss in Class 1A, District 8 play at Treynor to finish off the 2025 fall campaign.
“Our guys played hard to the final play, and that’s all we wanted,” stated Head Coach Dontae Allen. “We had an uphill climb, not just tonight, but the entire season. Really wished we could have picked up at least one win for the seniors, but they battled.”
This was Missouri Valley’s second straight winless season, and third winless season in the last four years (1-34). MV’s last victory was against MVAOCOU (Sept. 1, 2023 @ Mapleton), and their last home win was also against MVAOCOU (Sept. 18, 2020). They take a 15 game losing skid into the off-season.
The Big Reds graduate six seniors, including Landin Donaldson, Ryder O’Dowd, Aidan Vergamini, Peyden Roberson, Stephen Dworak, and Joe Bertelsen.
The top four teams in Class 1A, D-8, including (1) Treynor, (2) Underwood, (3) Tri-Center, and (4) Shenandoah advanced to the 2025 Class 1A State Football Playoffs
