Big Reds struggle in loss

Shenandoah scored on three of five first half possessions to pick up a 33-0 win over Missouri Valley at the Big Reds Homecoming on Sept. 26 in Missouri Valley.

“Our defense did everything we asked of it,” stated Head Coach Dontea Allen. “We were in position to make the plays, but we didn’t get the big stop when we really needed it.”

Defensively, Jack Handlos (14.5 tackles, 1 Int.), James Wendt (10.0 tackles), Lukas Cleaver (7.5 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) and Carter Tiffey (6.0 tackles) led a strong defensive effort.

Offensively, Ryder O’Dowd (25 yards), Owen Becerra (15 yards), and Julyan Tyson (10 yards) each had three receptions.

“This week will be the final time for a majority of these guys on our home field,” Allen concluded. “We’re still searching for the offensive consistency and a complete game effort. These guys will battle to the end.”

Up Next (Oct. 3): Missouri Valley (0-2, 0-5) will host Underwood in the home finale at the Big Reds Stadium on Oct. 3 in Missouri Valley
