Big Reds fall short at Shenandoah

Missouri Valley came up short in a 43-13 loss at Shenandoah in Class 1A, District 8 play on Sept. 25 at Ray Graves Field.

“Once again, our defense kept us in it,” stated Head Coach Jake Driver. “We made enough plays on that side of the ball, but still too inconsistent on offense.”

MV’s Jack Handlos (132 yards rushing, 1 TD) and Colt Stolz (49 yards rushing, 1 TD) paced the Big Reds’ offensive attack.

James Wendt (3.5 tackles, 1 fumble recovery), Noah Cox (3.0 tackles), Blake Lawrenson (2.5 tackles), and Stolz (2.0 tackles) led a feisty defense.

“We are taking strides as we enter the final half of the season,” Driver concluded. “The last three games will be a challenge, but our guys will be up for it.”

Up Next (Oct. 2 / Oct. 9): Missouri Valley (1-1, 1-5) will be at Underwood on Oct. 2, and host Tri-Center on Oct. 9.
