Tigers blast Knights
Woodine scored on all five first half possessions to secure a huge 54-12 win over Fremont-Mills in the District 10 battle at Henry Boone Field on Sept. 12 in Woodbine.
“We came out and let our defense do the talking,” stated Head Coach Dustin Crook. “Our defense was exceptional, as we allowed less than a yard per play, forced a pair of turnovers, and the defense added three safeties.”
Cal Pryor (7.0 tackles, 1 interception), Brenner Sullivan (6.5 tackles, 1 fumble recovery), Matthew Tremel (4.0 tackles), and Lucas Olson (3.5 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) led a solid defensive effort against an explosive Knight offense.
Brody Pryor threw for 235 yards and added four touchdown tosses. Brenden Wagner and Micah Moore both had scoring receptions, with Landon Blum hauling in three touchdown grabs.
“Besides the win, we found out our guys could execute and perform in high-pressure situations,” Crook concluded. “We rotated in several players, and they did what we asked. It was a huge win, now we have to continue to build.”
Up Next (Sept. 19): Woodbine (2-0, 3-0) will be at Stanton this week at 8-Man, District 10 action continues.
