Congressman Randy Feenstra made a visit to Harrison County on Jan. 17. He stopped at the Harrison County Courthouse to visit with local veterans and hear their concerns.

Congressman Feenstra addressed many concerns that Harrison County veterans have. One of his big goals is to make sure when a veteran calls in with a concern or problem that the proper amount of follow-up with action is available to them. Another item discussed was the cost of medications and how veterans are currently not allowed to use local pharmacies to fill prescriptions. Feenstra shared that he is dedicated to trying to make changes to this to benefit veterans.

Another hot topic of discussion was mental crisis health for veterans. It was brought up that an extremely low number of resources are available in this region for these kinds of crises. Feenstra expressed that this is a major concern he has and that he, along with his staff, will be looking into the possibility of partnering with local resources to help veterans in need.
