An early afternoon accident on Loess Hills Trail south of Missouri Valley claimed the life on an Omaha man and injured two.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 2, a 2003 Chevy Suburban driven northbound by Michelle Rosario, 32, of Council Bluffs, crossed over the center line for unknown reasons.
This caused Rosario’s vehicle to make impact with a southbound 2019 Ford Escape driven by Kurt Von Sternberg, 62, of Omaha.
Von Sternberg received fatal injuries in the accident and passenger Debra Von Sternberg, 60, of Omaha received serious injuries and was transported via Life Net to UNMC.
Rosario also received serious injuries in the collision and was transported to CHI Missouri Valley by Missouri Valley EMS.
Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Missouri Valley Fire and Rescue and Logan Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. The Iowa State Patrol investigation is ongoing.
