147th Annual Missouri Valley Fireman’s Ball held over weekend
The 147th Annual Missouri Valley Fireman’s Ball was held Saturday, Feb. 25. The ball attracted a large crowd and raised funds for the Missouri Valley Fire and Rescue Department.

Josh Goodsell led everyone in a prayer and moment of silence for Travis Short, a long time honorary member of the Missouri Valley Fire and Rescue Department.

Caleb Wohlers presented an award to Angel Nies for 10 years of service.

Teresa Erixon was honored for her many years of service. Her husband, Bob Erixon, presented her with an award in recognition of her hard work.

Caleb Wohlers presented Trevor Collier an award for 10 years of service.

Caleb Wohlers presented the "Firefighter of the Year" award to Brit Harrington.

Angel Nies presented the "EMS of the Year" award to Forest Dooley. Dooley was also recognized for 35 years of service.

Bob Erixon presented an award to Dakota Tish for "Rookie of the Year".

Caleb Wohlers was given an appreciation award for his many years of service as the previous chief.

A special anniversary cake was presented to Scott and Bridgette Malvin to thank them for always postponing their anniversary plans when catering the meal for the Fireman’s Ball.

Current members of Missouri Valley Fire and Rescue stood for a photo and were given a round of applause by those in attendance for all the hard work and dedication they give to the community.
