HILLARY STEVENSON
CITY/TOWN: Mondamin
CANDIDATE FOR: West Harrison School Board
EXPLAIN WHO YOU ARE: I am Hillary Stevenson and I wear many hats. My professional title is Pediatric Cancer Research Nurse Coordinator, but I am also a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, RN, and Child Mental Health Specialist. In life, I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, coach, play director, Sunday School director/teacher, a West Harrison graduate and School Board member. My hobbies include spending time with my husband & kids, family time, cooking, gardening, music, sports, spending time near the water, even mowing the lawn and helping in the fields during harvest season.
WHY DID YOU RUN FOR THIS POSITION? I have a strong loyalty and commitment to West Harrison being a 3rd generation graduate. It has been amazing to watch it grow and see the facilities improve from those built in the early 1900’s to the beautiful campus we have today, and I want to see that continue.
WHAT FROM YOUR BACKGROUND QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS POSITION? My background in healthcare has taught me to think outside the box. If one thing does not work, look for another path. We have been doing this with our programs and continue to provide opportunities for our students.
WHAT ARE YOU GOALS IF ELECTED? To continue building our programs: the arts, music, theatre, sports…. our students should have the opportunity to participate in ALL programs. We have started this process and plan to continue to build it stronger going forward. This will not happen overnight but with perseverance, hard work and quality leadership, it can be accomplished.
