EXPLAIN WHO YOU ARE: Native to Missouri Valley and alumni to Missouri Valley Schools. I have worked in the Early Childhood sector for the past 15 years and have dedicated my professional career to providing high quality educational experiences and supporting families.
WHY DID YOU RUN FOR THIS POSITION? My children are enrolled in the Missouri Valley school system, and I wish to see the school continue a path towards greatness. I wish to serve my community in a leadership role that will benefit the children and families in and around Missouri Valley, Iowa. Family engagement is the cornerstone of child success; when families feel connected and supported, children thrive academically and socially leading to success in life.
WHAT FROM YOUR BACKGROUND QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS POSITION? My background combines my program management experience as an Early Head Start and a strong focus in community collaboration. I have success in implementing family engagement strategies, compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and have built partnerships in the communities to assist children and families. I use a data driven approach to track and measure program goals and outcomes.
WHAT ARE YOU GOALS IF ELECTED? My goal as a board member is to ensure that every child that attends Missouri Valley CSD will have access to high quality education and supportive services by fostering strong partnerships between families, schools, and the entire community. I will advocate for policies that promote innovation and inclusion to create a collaborative environment where students can thrive in school and in life.
