Are you able to rationally process your choice for president this November? Are you muddling through the “he said, she said” conversations? Listening to the mudslinging from both sides? Bombarded by television ads? Sometimes it becomes hard to distinguish fact from fiction. A lot of things factor into our decision, but hopefully the main focus regarding the issues of inflation, border security and abortion is policy.
No one can dispute that Americans have been affected by grocery, gas, housing and energy prices.
Can you dispute the failure of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to abide by their constitutional oath to protect U.S. Citizens from an invasion of our border? There policies have contributed to many problems in several towns and cities across our country. Some would say that Trump impeded a congressional bill that would have fixed the problem. Whether this is true or not is a moot point. We don't need Congress to close the border because we didn't need them to open it. President Biden and Vice President Harris have had the option to use the “power of the pen” all along, but chose not to. Do you wonder why?
The issues associated with abortion are perplexing to me. All the ads state, “my body, my choice.” Keep the government out of it! The Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade did not intend to, nor did it, ban abortion. It simply took the power to enact abortion laws away from the federal government and returned it to the citizens of each state. Power to the people – what a concept!
There's definitely a lot to consider in a short amount of time. But, if you can set aside politics, party and personality and base your decision on policy the choice becomes very clear.
