Collison sentenced to 50-years
An Iowa man was arrested on child exploitation charges after fleeing to the other side of the world learned his fate on April 22.
A federal judge sentenced Trevor Collison, Little Sioux, to 50-years in prison.
Collison was indicted on child sexual exploitation charges in August, 2024. Officials stated that U.S. Marshals determined Collison fled the country after a search warrant was executed at his Little Sioux residence. The warrant was conducted by the Harrison County Sheriff's Office as part of a child sexual exploitation investigation.
Marshals tracked Collison's movements across several South Pacific countries, including Singapore and Malaysia, before he was found in Indonesia, authorities said.
He was detained by Indonesian immigration officials, in coordination with U.S. Marshals and U.S. Department of State officials, when he attempted to extend his visa, and subsequently returned to the United States, according to officials.
Investigators say the Marshals caught up with Collison in Indonesia as he tried to renew his visa. He was arrested in early 2025 and sent back to Iowa to face trial.
