The legendary status of Logan-Magnolia's Matt Straight continues to grow.

During his playing days, he led the Panthers to their first State Playoff appearance, a their first state championship game apparearance (1989), the school's first state championship (1990).

After a successful playing career at Iowa State University, and a couple stops around the state of Iowa, he returned to his alma-mater and to the sidelines of the Bob Evans Memorial Field.  He's led the Panthers to 16 state playoff berths, including a spot in the 2012 State Semifinals, and 2014 State Championship.  The only coach and player in the state of Iowa to accomplish such a feat.

Now, he adds another to his incredible resume.

Matt Straight has been selected to coach in the 2025 Shrine Bowl on July 19th at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Straight will head the South team for the first time as a head coach, and second time overall on the coaching staff. A tradition since 1972, the Iowa Shrine Bowl is an all-star football game recognizing senior athletes and coaches across the State of Iowa.
