Logan’s Mother-Daughter Banquet held April 8
The Annual Logan United Methodist Church Mother-Daughter/Guest Banquet was held Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Renee Hack organized the event and this year’s theme was "God Bless America”. The hall was decorated to celebrate the 250 th birthday of the United States of America. Pastor Nikki Ahart welcomed everyone and the evening was started with everyone reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The flag-holders were Cecelia, Scarlett, and Gabriel Straight. Hailee Clark gave the blessing before the potluck meal.
Poems were read by the 4 generation family of Sharon Greenwood, Cheryl Greenwood, Brittany Remington, and Ridley Remington. Special recognition was given to Lindsey McGargill for her work and dedication to the church.
The children’s sermon was a lesson on the colors red, white, and blue that remnd us of Jesus. Red for Jesus blood shed for love, white for the purity and cleansing of hearts, and blue for God's faithfulness. Each child was given a red,white,and blue slap bracelet as reminder of what those colors mean.
Prize winners were Kim Clark having the birthday closest to the 4th of July, Abbie Carlson for coming the farthest, and Gabriel Straight for having the winning cupcake. Everyone was asked to stand who had a Love one who served our country and took home a 250th Birthday Flag. Wanda Schultz from the Missouri Valley American Legion Auxilary was the speaker. She told of her experiences joining the service as a young adult and the places she served. Renee thanked all those who helped with the banquet.
The evening ended with everyone singing “God Bless America.”
