M. Elaine Farris, age 79, of rural Little Sioux, passed away Oct. 4, 2025, at Azria nursing home in Missouri Valley.
Elaine was born Oct. 6, 1945, in Hastings, Neb. to Floyd and Maxine (McDonald) Stevens. Elaine grew up attending Mondamin Public School in Mondamin.
Elaine enjoyed life being a homemaker for her family throughout the years. She was a member of the Mondamin Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting, growing house plants and collecting dolls. She also enjoyed indulging her “sweet tooth” whenever she could.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Maxine Stevens of Mondamin; her sister, Joan Sabatka of Lincoln, Neb.; brother, Floyd (Junior) Stevens of Ida Grove; brother, Jeff Stevens of Glenwood; and infant sister, Yvonne, of Mondamin.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Gary Farris of Little Sioux; son, Randy and wife, Debra
Farris of Mondamin; daughter, Becky and husband, Bill Greenwood of Dunlap; grandsons, Derek and wife, Erica Farris of Bellevue, Neb., Mark Quick of Dunlap; brothers, Bill and wife Linda Stevens of Missouri Valley, Tim and wife Candi Stevens of Lincoln, Neb.; sister, Gloria Smith of Ida Grove; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Oct. 8, 2025, at the Mondamin Church of Christ.
