Western Iowa’s Voice is the Primary
Western Iowa is proud of our communities. From the schools we’ve built, the churches we fill, the fields we work, and the families we raise, we take care of what God has given us. But there’s one thing we too often neglect: the primaries.
How many times have we looked at the ballot in November and asked, “How are these my choices?” Too often we sit out the primary election, thinking the real election comes in November. The truth is that in our corner of Iowa, the primaries are just as important as the general election. By the time November arrives, our choices have already been narrowed and, in many cases, practically made for us. Our real voice is in the primaries.
When we ignore them, we hand our power to the few who do show up. Our best chance to remind Des Moines and Washington that Western Iowa matters isn’t in November, it’s in June.
It may seem early, but now is the time to start paying attention to who is running for office. Attend events. Read. Get informed. This year, don’t just complain about who’s running; decide who does.
In 2026 we will decide our Governor, Senator, and Congressman. Let’s make Western Iowa heard when it counts.
