Peterson Dinner an Annual Success
DUNLAP – The annual Marge Peterson Dinner, held the first Sunday of December (Dec. 7), came together and it was amazing once again. There was a lot of great food and desserts for everyone to enjoy. Many of the community members made either warm sides, salads, pies, or desserts for all to share. There were turkeys and hams donated for us to cook.
We would like to thank Karol Murphy, Jenna Hamblen, and Gavin Reetz for helping to set up. Many other volunteers like Jan Roberts, Michelle Miller, Karol Murphy, Tami Carter, Amanda Julich, Laurie Klein, Marty Rose, Judy and Jude Schoenherr, Dale Smith, Tammy Hamblen, and Sonja Worth and everyone else who we may have not mentioned, made this event a huge community success.
We must thank our wonderful community and businesses for pitching in with monetary donations. Our final total to donate to the Dunlap Community Food Pantry totaled up to $2,860.51. The Afghan raffle raised $173.00, and the proceeds went to the Dunlap Senior Center. The afghan was made and donated by Evelyn Summerfield, with the winner of the afghan was Sandra Iverson.
The Peterson family again donated $200.00 to two familiies/individuals in rememberance of Marge.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
