Mental Health Awareness Month at the Missouri Valley Public Library

Posted

On Thursday, May 11, at 1:30 p.m. Payton Vaughn from Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, Nebraska, will be at the Missouri Valley Public Library to provide flyers and handouts for those seeking information in the various areas of mental health in recognition of May as Mental Health Awareness Month.

Memorial Community Hospital and Health System’s Senior Life Solutions is a program designed to meet the unique needs of individuals typically 65 and older experiencing depression or anxiety related to life changes that are often associated with aging.

This program works to help reduce the stigmas surrounding mental health, help improve access to care, educate communities on signs and symptoms, and highlight the progress being made in the world of mental health.

Citizens are encouraged to stop by the Library and pick up materials about mental health and ask questions of Payton if you have any. She will not be there for a set amount of time, so please be there early if you do want to meet her.
