On Nov. 7, Harrison County voters will choose from the various candidates running for mayor, city council and school board.

The Missouri Valley Times-News reached out to candidates ahead of the election with a brief question and answer.

Following are the candidates' responses, published verbatim. All candidates were contacted; if you do not see their answers here, they either did not respond or elected not to participate.

Name: Christopher Skinner

City/town: Modale

Candidate for: City Council

Explain who you are: Resident of Modale since May of 2005. Grew up in this area. Currently work for ABES trash service. Worked over 20 years for City of Omaha. I have served the public in some form for over 42 years.

Why did you run for this position? I have previous experience on Modale City Council. Served 3 consecutive terms from January 2012 to December 2017. I saw there would be 2 openings and felt my experience could be helpful.

What from your background qualifies you for this position? I have dealt with public issues in many forms for over 42 years. I believe my patience and experience could benefit our community.

What are your goals if elected? Only current council and mayor have helped our community tremendously. I hope I can bring additional ideas along with previous experience to continue that process.

Name: Terigene Tiffey

Candidate for: City council

Explain who you are: I am originally from Missouri Valley and have lived in Modale since 2017 however I have been apart of this community for over 15 years. My other half Alex and I have two kids, Amelia and Milo.

Why did you run for this position? I originally ran for council 4 years ago because I wanted to bring family and community involvement back into Modale.

What from your background qualifies you for this position? In my 4 years of council we have made some huge steps with lots of big updates in our town from sewer & street projects, park updates, and many others. Plus we have gained a ton of community involvement by having community get togethers for our town and surrounding areas.

What are your goals if elected? My goal is to see through with the sewer project, heading up the 150th town celebration for 2024, fixing streets that need repair, and being a voice for this town and its members.

Name: Blair Adams

Candidate for: City Council

Explain who you are: I was born and raised around Modale. Spent a couple of years in the Army. Spent most of my adult life in Omaha. Have been married to my wife Bonnie for 36 years. We returned to Modale nine years ago and then retired.

Why did you run for this position? I have been a council member for the past two years. I would like to continue with the projects that are in the works, and have the opportunity to work on new projects as they arise.

What are your goals if elected? To continue to work for the city and the citizens of Modale.
