NOTICE OF INTENT TO MODIFY A PERMIT AUTHORIZING USE OF WATER FOR GENERAL AGRICULTURAL PURPOSES IN HARRISON COUNTY, IOWA Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 455B, there is now on file with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Water Supply Engineering Section, 502 E 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50319-0034 an application as described below. Sweeney Rev Grant Trust, Iowa DNR Log Number 31,823, requests a modified water use permit authorizing withdrawals of water from an existing and a new alluvial well on land generally described as the S ½ of the NW ¼ and the N ½ of the SW ¼ of Section 25, T78N, R45W, Harrison County, Iowa, in the maximum quantity of 213 acre-feet per year at a maximum rate of 1400 gallons per minute during the period April 1 to September 30 of each year for irrigation of up to 240 acres of general farm crops on said land. This permit modification authorizes the construction of a new well as above-referenced and the increase in yearly allotment of water from 80 acre-feet of water per year to 213 acre-feet of water per year to allow for increased property size. The Department has determined that this use of water conforms to the relevant criteria (Iowa Code Chapter 455B and Iowa Administrative Code Chapter 567) and recommends the permit be granted. A copy of the summary report for the application is available upon a request to the Department at the address listed above. Comments on the report and on this use of water must be received by June 14, 2022, and should be addressed “ATTN.: Water Supply Engineering Section” and should specify the applicant’s log number.
