Pisgah has the State’s Best Water

Harrison County town wins lowa’s 2026 Best Tasting Water

Officials at the lowa Rural Water Association have found the best-tasting water in lowa.

On February 10, the 2026 winner of a statewide competition was announced in an effort to identify the tastiest water in the state and, participants hope, in the nation.

Water utilities from around the state submitted samples of their water, straight from the tap. The winner of lowa’s 2026 Best Tasting Water was the City of Pisgah whose water was chosen by judges as the most appealing. City operator Todd Noah was presented the award. The panel of judges included Lejla Latic; USA Bluebook, Julia McCusker; CoBank and Jason Meredith; West Central lowa Rural Water Association. Coming in second place was City of LeMars and in third place was Osceola Country Rural Water Association.

This competition is part of ‘Quality On Tap!’ campaign to emphasize the high quality, standards and, consequently, taste of water in rural America.

The City of Pisgah along with other state winners will compete in the “Great American Water Taste Test” national contest in Washington, D.C. in February 2027.

This event is part of the Rural Water Rally, an annual legislative event for the state affiliates of the National Rural Water Association.
