PUBLIC NOTICE The Regional Planning Affiliation (RPA) 18 is issuing a call for projects for Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) and Regional Transportation Alternatives (TA-Set Aside/TASA) funding for Fiscal Year 2025. RPA-18 includes the Counties of Harrison, Mills, Shelby and the rural portion of Pottawattamie County Local units of government including cities, counties and public transit agencies are eligible for STBG and TA Set-Aside/TASA funding. The call for projects runs from Oct. 16, 2023 to Jan. 26, 2024. The Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) program provides flexible funding that may be used by localities to preserve and improve the conditions and performance on any federal-aid highway, bridge, public road, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure and transit capital projects. The Regional Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Program is federal funding for regionally significant projects including trails, transit, safe routes to schools projects, and other projects promoting alternative modes of transportation to single occupancy vehicle use. Applications for both the STBG and Regional TASA programs are due Jan. 26, 2024, to Travis Halm, MAPA Transportation Planner, at rpa@mapacog.org. State Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program applications are due Nov. 27, 2023, to Sue Hollenkamp.
