Final Countdown: 2025-26 Retiring School Employee
School Employee: Brian Knott
School: Missouri Valley
How Many Years at School District: 32 years at Missouri Valley; 33 years total.
What Jobs / Roles have you served at the District: Physical Education Teacher, Athletic Director, Football Coach; Girls Basketball Coach; Track Coach; Youth Baseball Coach.
What are you going to miss most about teaching: Obviously the students (I mean it's why we got into this profession so many years ago); and staff (some of my best friends of all time are on this staff and on past staffs); and people that work for the athletic dept. at all the different jobs we have. I mean I won't see them much if at all. But also, I'll miss the grind and routine of what I've been doing for many years. I don't think I'm against change, but things will be way different and that's something that is such an unknown until it happens.
What are you looking forward to most about Retirement: Similar to what I will miss... not having the grind and routine of something I've been doing for such a long time. I'm looking forward to something different, to not being bound by everything that goes into teaching and being an athletic director.
